MBTI Step 1

MBTI Personality Test

What is the Myers Briggs Type Indicator®?

  • The Myers Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality assessment is, perhaps, the most widely used and best-known personality instrument. It is based on the work of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung and his theory of personality difference.
  • The MBTI® assessment is a valid and reliable measure of personality type with 70 years of continuing research behind it.
  • The MBTI® reports personality differences (or preferences) across four scales – known as dichotomies (scales). The MBTI® Step 1 questionnaire reports an individual’s level of clarity for one side over another; resulting in one of 16 personality combinations or ‘types’

The four scales/8 differences of the MBTI®

  1. The focus of our attention, and how we are energized
  2. How we take in information
  3. How we make decisions
  4. How we deal with our outer world
MBTI Scales Differences

Effective leaders know that there is strength in diversity. It has been well documented that diverse teams and organizations are smarter, healthier, happier, and more productive. Diversity and inclusion extend well beyond the physical and what we can see; it also includes our cognitive diversity. The personality difference!
